Abstract
The animals that the writer worked with liere the unicellular organisms called liaJ,tez:ia grandil.!iilJ.a• They belong to the Pl~lum Protozoa and are placed in the Class Ciliata and the Order Oligotrichia. llftltez'A gDJ}gini•U, like most protozoa, ll ve in waters but they seem to prefer qUiet pools, lakes, and ponds in which aqua i;;!c plants are growing and in which there is much organic matter.
