Abstract
The objective of this Capstone Paper is to map out a sidewalk loop in Marshall, Illinois, and ensure that the sidewalk follows the Americans with Disabilities ACT (ADA) compliance. The study aims to identify the trouble areas, assess the outdated sidewalks, and find ways to speed up the pre-construction planning process by using Unmanned Systems (UMS). The paper reviews the existing literature on the construction industry's inefficiency and how automation and data collection through UMS could enhance the productivity of construction teams. The research method includes data collection from the field using drones and online software, qualitative data collection from surveys, and a comparison of the drone data with the previous data obtained through traditional methods. The study does not require any other participants, but a survey will be conducted in Marshall to collect opinions on how better sidewalks could impact people's daily lives.
