Abstract
The purpose of this quantitative study was to determine whether there are statistically significant differences among five superintendent roles: fiscal responsibilities, instructional leader, compliance of Educational law, managerial tasks, and public relations. The study also examined if the five areas of time allocation were predictors of ISTEP+ mathematics and English/Language Arts scores. In addition, the study also addressed the change capacity of a school superintendent on his or her school district. Based on the findings, this study determined none of the five areas of time allocation were predictors of ISTEP+ mathematics and/or English Language Arts scores.
