Abstract
Marshall Illinois is a small town located near Terre Haute Indiana that plans to host an event next Spring in relation to the Solar Eclipse event that is occurring. The reasoning behind this is the fact that the city lies in the exact path of Totality of the Eclipse, and provides a unique quality that many people normally travel far and wide to come see. The town plans to host a three day event, in order to boost the towns reputation and economy within the surrounding area. The town is struggling to create a marketing strategy plan in order to get the most attendance for an event like this, and being able to implement the cost of putting on an event like this. On top of all that solve issues such as parking, lodging, and providing entertainment options at a reasonable price to the city. An evaluation of the towns internal strengths and weaknesses and external opportunities and threats served as the foundation for this strategic analysis and marketing plan. The plan focuses on the towns strategy to accommodate the event, suggesting ways in which it can build on the existing lay of the town and diversify the resources to manage an event such as this.
