Abstract
This volume focuses primarily on the Phase II testing and Phase III data recovery of the Middle and Late Archaic components at three sites located in the Caesars Indiana development in Harrison County, Indiana (Figure 1.1). The sites discussed are the Townsend site (12Hr481), the Knob Creek site (12Hr484) and the Stucky site (12Hr482) (see Figure 1.2). Although the Townsend site contains a substantial Late Archaic component, a significant late Early Archaic and Early Woodland occupations are also described in this report. At the Knob Creek site there are buried and stratified Middle Archaic, Late Archaic and Terminal Archaic components. Ephemeral stratified occupations are present at the Stucky site. Components at this site include Late Archaic, Terminal Archaic, and Early Woodland.
